Crew socks knitted with a non-binding top and a cushioned sole, in white, black and a white-and-grey. Four pairs to a packet or eight, in shoe sizes from men 6-9 with women 7-10 up to men 12-15.
Start with the cuff, because it is the reason this shelf exists. An ordinary sock has a rubber thread run through the top to hold it up, and that thread is what leaves the ring above your ankle at the end of a day. These are knitted without it: the top is the same yarn as the leg, made with extra stretch, so it rests on the calf instead of gripping it. On a leg that swells through the afternoon that is the difference between a sock that fitted at nine and one that still fits at four. The trade is honest and worth knowing before you order eight pairs: a cuff that does not grip can slide, and on a smooth calf it sometimes will. The cushion helps more than you would expect, because the extra loops under the foot hold the sock still inside a shoe. Then the height. A crew comes up the calf, which is what you want under a trouser and in a boot; if you want the sock to stop at the ankle bone, the quarter shelf is the same knit cut shorter. The national institute that writes about feet and diabetes puts it in one line — lightly padded, well fitting, seamless for preference, not tight — and that line is linked at the foot of this shelf rather than paraphrased into a promise here.
Prices are the figures from our last update; MediPeds standards updates them on a schedule, and the figure at the till is the one that counts.

Questions about MediPeds non-binding crew socks
How high a crew sock comes up, what the non-binding top is, how many pairs are worth ordering, and what to do when a sock sits between two shoe sizes.
How far up your leg does a MediPeds crew sock come?
Mid-calf, roughly a hand's width above the ankle bone on most people. That is high enough to sit above a boot collar and to stay under a trouser hem when you sit down, which is the height most of this catalogue is knitted at.
What does the non-binding top on a MediPeds crew sock actually do?
Nothing, which is the point. An ordinary sock has a rubber thread run through the cuff to hold it up, and that thread is what presses the ring into the skin above your ankle. Here the cuff is the same yarn as the leg with extra stretch knitted in, so it rests on the calf rather than closing round it.
Should you take four pairs or eight of a MediPeds crew sock?
Eight if you already know this cuff suits you: the eight-pair packets cost noticeably less per pair, and socks worn daily wear out together. Four if this is the first pair, because a cuff that does not grip behaves differently on different calves and a week of wearing tells you more than any card can.
Can you wear MediPeds crew socks in a work boot?
That is the height they suit best. A boot collar sits exactly where a quarter sock stops, so a crew is the one that keeps leather off your skin. The cushioned versions take up more room in the boot than the plain knit does, which matters if the boot already fits closely.
